About.

The CIE/666 is a hand-driven generator-type insulation tester built into a seasoned wooden body with sunmica finish, offering a more traditional, robust enclosure. Available at more rated voltages than the metal-body CIE/444 (100, 250, 500, 1000, 2500, 5000 and 10,000 V), making it suitable for higher-voltage insulation testing including HV switchgear and higher-class transformer windings. Like the CIE/444, it generates its own test voltage via a hand-cranked generator with centrifugal governor, eliminating any need for external power. A guard terminal and externally accessible infinity adjuster are provided on instruments with insulation range 1000 megohms and above. The wooden cabinet has a detachable lid, carrying handle, and lock. Scale length is 100 mm. Quick response: 3 seconds. Conforms to IS: 2992/1987. Each unit is built for a single rated voltage and resistance range, specified at order.
