Handheld Digital Tachometers
Handheld tachometers read shaft speed in RPM, and surface speed in m/min, so you can check a motor, fan, pump or belt without a fixed meter. Systems Tech offers a contact model (HTM 590), a non-contact photo model (HTM 560) and a combined contact and photo model (HTM 890), each with a 5-digit LED display and last, max and min memory.

Contact or photo?
A contact tachometer touches the end of the shaft and also reads surface speed. A photo tachometer reads from 75 mm to 300 mm away using a strip of reflective tape, which suits shafts you cannot reach.

Check the range
The contact models read up to 50,000 RPM, the photo side up to 1,00,000 RPM.

Accuracy
All three use a quartz time base with 0.05% + 1 digit accuracy, and come with a padded carrying case.
